FAC-T Planning in the First Term

Two people wearing "BHCC Transfer Team" t-shirts stand with a male holding a "Future Transfer Student" bag.

FAC-T planning experiences start with an onboarding introduction to Career Coach, BHCC’s career assessment tool, for academic and career planning during a student’s first term.

FAC-T plans are built on three questions students typically consider. How much can I take on? What am I working toward? What do I enroll in?

Students start their plan in New Student Pathway Advising (NSPA), a required group session in their first term. In the session, students take a career assessment, confirm their program, review academic standing rules and map out their courses through completion. Every semester provides an opportunity for students to reflect on their achievements and progress. In Spring 2026, 1,150 students completed NSPA and 1,969 finished the career interest assessment in Career Coach. Of the students who start that assessment, 83% finish it. Before a student completes their first term, we introduce Career Coach.
