At Bunker Hill Community College, a student’s pathway determines their pathway coach, who is also their assigned academic advisor. Every student with 0 to 23 credits gets one, and so does every liberal arts student in any of our six pathways. From the first term on, coaches work with students on their FAC-T plan. They are also part of each student’s success team when a faculty member raises a Success Signal. Success Signals are part of our early alert program, which enables real-time intrusive interventions and rewards students with Kudos from their faculty.
Pairing Every New Student with a Pathway Coach

A student’s pathway determines their coach. Students in their first 24 credits, and every liberal arts student, have an assigned pathway coach. At 24 credits, students in a non-liberal arts program are re-assigned to the academic department as primary advising/mentor resource.
