Hofstra University is advancing a comprehensive approach to career readiness that connects academic learning, individualized career advising, experiential opportunities, employer engagement, and graduate outcomes. Through expanded student engagement, strategic partnerships, and innovative programming, the University is working to make career development an accessible and meaningful part of every student’s educational journey.
Expanding Career Coaching and Student Engagement
During the 2025–2026 academic year, Hofstra’s Career Center increased career coaching appointments by 46%, delivering more than 1,500 individualized appointments supporting career exploration, internship and job searches, professional skill development, and graduate school planning.
The University has also strengthened its approach to student engagement through academic collaborations, classroom presentations, targeted programming, and proactive outreach. Career Center professionals work with students across academic disciplines, providing support in areas including résumé development, interviewing, networking, professional communication, LinkedIn strategy, and career planning.
Hofstra is committed to reducing practical barriers to professional success. Through its Career Boutique, students can access professional attire at no cost, while a newly introduced professional headshot service supports their professional networking and employment preparation. Expanded Career Boutique pop-up events have also brought these resources directly to career fairs and other campus programs.
Connecting Students with Employers and Experiential Opportunities
Hofstra’s signature Career and Internship Fairs continue to serve as important opportunities for students and alumni to explore internships, employment opportunities, and professional pathways. The spring and fall 2026 fairs each welcomed more than 110 employers, with combined attendance exceeding 1,250 students and alumni.
Recent Hofstra graduates have reported undergraduate internship experiences with leading organizations across a wide range of industries, including NBCUniversal, Warner Bros. Discovery, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, Google, Microsoft, Northwell Health, Brookhaven National Laboratory, and the Library of Congress, among many others. These experiences illustrate the diverse professional environments in which Hofstra students are applying their education and developing career competencies.
Beyond these opportunities, the University is expanding discipline-specific networking programs and employer partnerships that connect students directly with professionals in their fields of interest. Collaborations with academic programs, including the School of Health Sciences and the Frank G. Zarb School of Business, have created additional opportunities for industry engagement.
The Career Center has also relaunched its Employer in the Classroom program, bringing industry professionals into academic settings and helping students connect classroom learning with workplace expectations. Hofstra is also developing more systematic approaches to identifying and documenting student internship experiences to strengthen its understanding of experiential learning participation.
Strengthening Graduate Outcomes and Early Career Readiness
Hofstra’s commitment to career readiness extends beyond graduation. According to the University’s most recent graduate outcomes survey, 92% of graduates were working or attending graduate school, reflecting the University’s broader efforts to support successful transitions from college to professional and educational pursuits.
