The JMU Guarantees extend JMU’s commitment to student success beyond commencement. The guarantees prepare every bachelor’s degree graduate to achieve a positive career outcome within one year of graduation. An undergraduate alum who has not reached an outcome after 12 months can access the Employment Guarantee. This provides additional career advising, coaching, networking, work-based learning and learning modules at no added cost; eligible undergraduate courses may be available as space permits. JMU also offers an Employer Guarantee: employers of recent JMU alumni may request coaching and professional development in essential workplace skills one to three years after graduation, at no cost to the employer. A positive career outcome may include employment, continuing education, military service or a service year. The JMU Guarantees are a commitment to preparation and support, not a promise of a particular job, salary or admission.
