Monroe Community College

Monroe Community College’s access-oriented, equity-minded mission serves to transform lives and enrich its community through education. Whether developing new pathways for learners, removing barriers to student success, or advancing economic mobility, the College assesses its initiatives against a central question: Do they increase opportunity and improve outcomes for students and the region it serves? Evidence of impact, student achievement, and community benefit provides the standard by which the institution evaluates its progress.

Student success is often discussed through individual programs or services. MCC approached it differently: through structural and operational realignment. The college recognized that persistence, completion, transfer, and career preparation are shaped by students' cumulative experiences across academic and student-support functions. The initiative below illustrates how MCC built a culture of shared accountability for student success, using holistic advising to connect academic pathways, student supports, and institutional resources in ways that improved outcomes and strengthened the value students receive from their educational investment.

The programs below are the ones the institution put forward against this commitment, with the outcomes it reports against each.
