Preparing Students for the Workforce
Bemidji State University (BSU) and Northwest Technical College (NTC) have built a comprehensive workforce ecosystem that connects academic programs directly to regional workforce needs through employer partnerships, applied learning, and career-focused pathways. The institutions’ signature initiatives include the Manufacturing Excellence Program (MEP) with Polaris Industries, a paid 19-month “learn-and-earn” model through which students earn 30 college credits, a certificate of operations development, and have tuition, books, housing, and fees covered by Polaris while gaining professional experience.
